The Drawing Procedure
As usual, I begin all of my pencil drawing projects with proportions since I still cannot perfect free-hand drawing nor would I want to risk making a mess of it. Once I gathered the measurements and spaces between the darker points of the portrait I began drawing and marking guidelines over my sheet particularly starting with the eyes, nose and the hairline. As you can see the faint markings highlighted in the image below.
Not long after, I targeted the hair region which happens to be the most complicated texture to achieve in any human figure (at least for me). It took a lot of patience and even some more patience to achieve that hair texture. This time I did not use the indenting method anywhere compared to the one I did for the Spidey's eyes. I took the mechanical pencil and executed strokes imitating in the direction of the hair starting from the most evident regions.
Why The Professor (Alvaro Morte)?
I grew very attached to the character and the series. This probably was my first Spanish language web series out of the many thriller action packed ones I had ever feasted my eyes on. Coming towards the season finale I decided to complete a graphite drawing of Alvaro Morte (El Profesor / The Professor).
I was so impressed with his character development apart from Berlin's (Pedro Alonso). None the less, the entire team deserves a credit and I did think about making an art project on all their characters but it was the very beginning of my art journey and I am not a pro yet. Maybe one day I will.
